Making a Beautiful Wood Handrail from 2x6 lumber
Learn how I made a beautiful and functional wood handrail from 2x6 lumber for the ramp and side deck walkway for our Modern Farmhouse. Rip a ridge to shed water. Countersink the screws and make custom wood plugs to fill the holes. Add support structure and create a more finished professional look. Install the Haas Axis Cable Railing System for a modern and less obtrusive look than traditional wood balusters.

I milled our fireplace mantel from a black walnut tree I cut down on our property
Просмотров 6334 месяца назад
I took down a decent size black walnut tree from our own property, hauled it out of the woods and got it on our Woodmizer LX25 sawmill where I cut it into our fireplace mantel for our new Modern Farmhouse build project. The Yard Glider worked great with the Side by Side winch. I highly recommend it: amzn.to/3uKnsd6 I also used a knot hole filling system from Rangate which worked very well. us.r...

Framing a Fireplace Hearth in our Modern Farmhouse Build

I struggled building with metal studs and tracks, but I had to use non-combustable materials for a portion of the fireplace hearth that was within the danger zone. This 10 foot long by 24 inches deep by 16 inches tall hearth was a bit more challenging than I initially thought, but I got it done and it is ready for the stone work. Framing Shower Niches and Installing Blocking in our Modern Farmhouse Build

Before Insulation and Drywall cover everything up, we need to get a few things done like framing out niches in the showers and installing blocking between studs for toilet paper holders, towel racks, and tv mounts. By installing blocking, it eliminates the need for drywall anchors where is not a stud to screw into. Check out our channel @From Scratch Ranch to see how we got where we are now: ww...

Installing the Roof on our Modern Farmhouse

We really wanted to put a black metal standing seam roof on this Modern Farmhouse build but it just didn't fit within our budget. Does it ever "freeze up" ? I have the AC1200 and once a week it locks up and I have to disconnect the Cat cable and power cycle the device to unlock it. It's pretty frustrating and the Tech support has been iffy at best. Would like to find a product that isn't so finicky.

We are building a riding ring, how did you evenout the dirt layer before you put the gravel? We used a wheel loader to shape the dirt, but it is difficult to get a flat area that has less than +/-15 cm (approx. 6") variation. It looks like you used this tool on the back of your machine, how is this called (it looks like you also used it to rip out the grass). Any tipps would be appreciated. Thanks a lot for the video 😊

In order to take advantage of the addition of WIFI 6 you will need a device that supports it. At the current time only a few phones do, so you will need to set up another ax1800 set as a client then do a wired ethernet connection at the far end to something like a laptop.

Hi Jason @FromScratchRanch . Great video and as a result I bought this unit. Wondering if you (or anyone) can help. I set up an Access Point (very easy) and tested it using a 2m (6.5ft) Cat 6 cable from my router into the PoE converter and then another 2m (6.5ft) Cat 6 cable into the WiFi 6 AX1800. Amazing results (Wifi up speed = 400-450Mbps and down = 350-400mbps) when standing in the same room. Good test and even better wifi than from my router in the same room. I want to attach the unit to the corner of my house so it has a direct line of sight to my shed about 50m (164ft) from the fixing point. I then changed to a longer 45m (147ft) Cat 6 cable from the PoE into the AX1800, and still testing in the same room, get a significant reduction in speed to 80-100mbps down and 70-90mbps up. I tried with a shorter 25m (82ft) cable (both longer cables bought from trusted electrical store) into the AX1800 and got the same results as the longer 45m cable. I then changed back to the shorter 2m Cat 6 cable and boom, back to 400+ mbps. Any ideas why the longer cables aren't holding the router's speed which uses a fibre connection? I've Googled ethernet cables and the data transfer shouldn't downgrade until the cable exceeds 100m (328ft). Thanks in advance, Steve (New Zealand).
